Sustainable Development
Our research in sustainable development focuses on the integrated and sustainable management of forests and coastal areas; environmentally-friendly management of commodities in forestry, agriculture and marine affairs; climate change adaptation and mitigation based on the principle of nature-based solutions; the socio-economic impact of climate change; the transition toward renewables; and people’s participation in green economy.
Through our research, we aim to shed an impact on policies related to:
the adoption of an integrated and sustainable approach in the management of forests and coastal areas;
the adoption of nature-based solutions principle in efforts to mitigate climate change;
the adoption of environmental damage costs in development strategies;
acceleration of transition toward renewable energy; and
the increased role of pentahelix elements in green economy and development
